Guys, I’m thinking of getting an iPod - usually I’m pretty quick to gadgetize myself, but I’ve fallen behind the loop with portable music. The prices are sort of decent now, plus with some video and more space, I think whatever I get will last me quite a while.
I’m thinking of either going between the 30GB or the 80GB video iPod. I’m not a major music junkie although I’ve got a ton of MP3s…
So, any advice? I know that everyone else but me has one. I’ve heard get the 80GB, but is it worth the extra $100?
Like your iPod?
Thanks ya’ll

Hee, my old, (free!) ipod mini seems so outdated and sad by comparison, that either option seems like a crazy amount of GB. That said, given the space, you will find a way to fill it, no? Movies will take up space….

Well, the best advice I could give you would be to really think about what you “need” at the moment. I mean, we all want to give in and indulge from time to time, but try to get a good idea of what you’ll be using this for and then it’ll help you. When I bought mine, I knew I’d be using it everywhere, but my main purpose would to be replace my discman, there’s just no comfortable way to run with a diskman. So I bought the nano. Small, compact, and not too over the top. Then when it came down to memory, I thought, if I really wanted new songs, I’m sure there would be some on my nano that would be worth getting rid of. Those are just my thoughts…. oh yeah, plus that extra $100 could be used elsewhere i.e. back here for party expenses…

:D
True that…plus I’m planning on getting a well placed scar, then I’ve got those plane tickets hitting me in the wallet…hmmm, perhaps a nano…
decisions decisions… *sigh*
Yeah, actually I think I could trade in the GB for some Turkish partying

I guess it was a good thing you asked for input huh? Now you’ll probably get a better deal than you could have ever found, no matter how much price comparing and bargain shopping you would have done. Good stuff….

ranking in any situation causes inner turmoil and dissension…. hmmm…. maybe that’s why people don’t talk to me anymore on myspace… Sweet! Anarchy reigns again…

[…] 15 Jan 2007 iPod Nano vs. Video iPod for a Gypsy Posted by aop1980 under Travel , Geek , Advice , Personal , Hack I had quite a dilemma withthis choice a few weeks back, but thanks to your good advice and some money I was able to settle on the 30Gb video iPod. The nano might be practical for the run of the mill gym rat, but for those of you gypsies and hardcore travelers out there the 30Gb video iPod is the way to go. […]
