What is L’avant Poste?
L’avant Poste means “The Outpost” in French, and it reflects the nature of this site. We are an international crowd, with editors writing interesting stories and tidbits from all corners of the globe.
We update everyday, although on the weekends we get a bit lazy…gathering material we are of course!
Enjoy, and come everyday where ever you may be! Perhaps we are writing from there, and if we’re not, contact me and you can contribute too

This is our first, official “top.” Taken by one of our editors, aop1980, in Seattle, Washington (in the States), it seemed appropriate. Seattle, my favorite city state-side has a small town feel, people are friendly, and if you love art and music, it’s a place you need to see. What to hang out and meet some people? Head over to one of the many coffee shops in Seattle. There are about 4 per street corner, and everyone will chat you up about their beloved city.
